Experience the Heart and Soul of Our In-Home Bakery

By Golly Bakery began with a dream to share the joy of fresh, handmade treats with our community.

Each day, lifelong baker, Cindy Strahm works passionately to create baked goods that blend tradition and innovation, bringing warmth and flavor to every bite.

Carefully Crafted to Make Every Bite a Moment of Pure Joy!

"There's nothing quite like the smell of fresh baking filling the air.

Each item is made from scratch, in small batches, so every bite is soft, warm, and full of flavor.

It's baking the old-fashioned way — with patience, love, and a little bit of magic."

Frequently Asked Questions

What ingredients do you use?

Here are a few of the quality ingredients used:

~General Mills All trump bread flour (a hard red spring wheat flour that has a high protein content of 14.2%).
~European Butter, 82% to 85% butterfat, which is churned longer than American butter, and made from cultured cream. This butter is browned to perfection to add a nutty, rich flavor.
~Self made vanilla, seeped for 6+ months from Madagascar vanilla beans.
~Maldon salt from England, made since 1882, and used as a finishing salt on several By Golly Bakery treats. It is free from bitter aftertastes.
~Ghirardelli premium baking chips.

Though not an ingredient, the Tangzhong technique is used in By Golly Bakery cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls.
Tangzhong creates exceptionally soft, fluffy bread which stays fresh much longer.

Can I place a custom order for a special event?

Yes. Just call me for pricing. I will need 2 weeks prior notice for larger orders.

Do you have gluten-free or vegan options?

At the moment, no.

How fresh are your baked goods?

All our products are baked to order, we just need 2 days in advance for cookies and muffins and 4 days for breads and cinnamon rolls.

Do you offer delivery services?

Yes, we provide delivery within the local area, up to 10 miles from Blue Springs.

Can you describe your kitchen where products are baked?

I know, I know — 'home bakery' can sound like code for 'mystery kitchen.' So let me pull back the curtain.

My house was built back in the late 1970s (we're aging at about the same rate), but it's been completely remodeled top to bottom — new appliances and everything, except my trusty backup fridge downstairs, who's earned the right to be old.

I'm also borderline obsessive about cleaning. Like, "wipe it down twice just to be sure" obsessive.

Yes, I have a dog. His name is Wilson, and — I'll just say it — I shed more than he does. Wilson is banned from the kitchen on bake and prep days, no exceptions, no puppy-dog eyes accepted.

I wear a hairnet the entire time (a look I pray stays far, far away from social media) plus baking gloves, religiously.

And bugs? Never seen one. If a roach ever shows up, I'm not calling an exterminator — I'm calling a moving truck!

Baking is my love language...

Hosting big family holiday meals, serene pond cookouts at the farm, to even being the chef aboard the Spirit of Independence for sailing adventures to Bermuda, the Bahamas, and some Chesapeake Bay Schooner Races. It seems that my life has often been centered around preparing good food.

I also love to garden and grow my own herbs and spices and vegetables, which I can and freeze.

Though my first career was owning and managing Misty River Equestrian Center, and my second career was sailing for adventure, it seems I might be blessed with a third career baking for others!

Those are careers...my resounding first love is for God, family and friends,... And all of God's creatures on this green earth!
